This swaddling technique is slightly different from a traditional swaddle. It is nice because it wraps baby's hands by his/her face, allowing baby to suck on fists. It was introduced to me when my firstborn was about 8 weeks old and not sleeping at all. His Moro Reflex was so strong he'd startle himself awake after about 15 minutes of sleep. An Australian mother on the Baby Whisperer message boards, suggested this swaddle and it was dubbed the "Aussie Swaddle."
Always remember:
*keep your baby in a smoke free environment.
*put your baby on his/her back to sleep.
*sleep your baby with the face and head uncovered.
*don't overwrap/overheat your baby.
